These terms govern your use of Homestead Toolbelt (the "Site"), including calculators, articles, crop and animal pages, and related materials. By using the Site you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Site.

What the Site provides

Homestead Toolbelt publishes free planning tools and editorial guides for backyard keepers and small farms. Calculators convert published agricultural planning rates into estimates you can adjust. Content is provided for general informational and educational purposes.

Estimates, not professional advice

Calculator outputs and article figures are estimates based on typical published values and stated assumptions. They are not veterinary, agronomic, engineering, legal, tax, or financial advice. They do not replace a licensed professional, a structural engineer, a veterinarian, or your local cooperative extension office. You remain responsible for decisions about animals, structures, food preservation, chemicals, and land management.

Conditions on real farms vary: breed, climate, soil, forage, parasites, weather, and management change outcomes. Always verify safety-critical steps (especially canning, medication, and building) against current official sources such as USDA, NCHFP, or your extension service.

No warranty

The Site is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that calculators are error-free, that rates match every jurisdiction, or that the Site will be uninterrupted or secure.

Agricultural standards are revised over time. We strive to keep data files accurate and to show our math, but we do not guarantee completeness or currency for your location.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Homestead Toolbelt and its operators, contributors, and affiliates will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, data, livestock, crops, goodwill, or other intangible losses, arising from your use of the Site or reliance on any estimate or article.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim arising out of or relating to the Site is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid us (if any) for access in the twelve months before the claim or (b) twenty-five U.S. dollars (USD $25). Because the Site is free, many claims will be capped at that nominal amount. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations; in those places, liability is limited to the maximum extent allowed.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Misrepresent calculator outputs as certified guarantees, permits, or professional sign-off.
• Scrape or overload the Site in ways that degrade service for others.
• Attempt to inject malware, scrape personal data of other users, or bypass security controls.
• Use the Site to violate animal-welfare, food-safety, or other applicable laws.

Intellectual property

Site design, copy, icons, and original compilation of tools are protected by copyright and other laws. You may link to our pages and share results for personal, non-commercial farm planning. You may not republish substantial portions of articles or data tables as your own product without permission. Trademarks of third parties (including advertisers and affiliate merchants) remain their property.

Third-party links, ads, and affiliates

The Site may show advertisements and affiliate links. Third-party sites have their own terms and privacy practices. We are not responsible for their content, products, or policies. Purchases you make with third parties are between you and them.

Privacy

Our privacy policy describes cookies, analytics, and advertising consent. Our disclaimer restates the agricultural estimates notice and affiliate disclosure.

Changes and termination

We may update these terms, change or discontinue tools, or restrict access at any time. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated terms. The effective date appears at the top of this page.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the state in which the site operator resides, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, except where mandatory consumer protections in your jurisdiction apply. Courts in that state shall have exclusive jurisdiction over disputes, subject to those mandatory protections.
